Fighting Back Through Writing

This site has been quiet lately but sadly with good reason. Now it returns for a bit of self promotion. Around the turn of last year I began to lose weight, feel weak and just not my normalself. After a period of self denial, encouraged by concerned friends I sought medical help. I was eventually diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Amid the trauma of this life changing event, I begantochronicle my feelings in verse as I've always catalogued things in lyrics or poems.
Eventually this became a poetry collection called, More Than A Tremor. This has now been published by Amazon as a Kindle download. The work goes through the feelings aroused by not knowing what was wrong to diagnosis and treatment. It also looks at some frustrations with the health system such as paying for hospital parking and the benefit system particularly the controversial new PIP.
While the subject matter is obviously serious there is much sardonic humour in the book. As somebody who was fairly ignorant of the full implications of the illness it seeks to inform and raise awareness.  Writing is a love of mine and a safeguard that has enabled me to fond focus during a period of personal confusion.
More Than A Tremor is available to download for the princely sum of £3.76 as a Amazon download.
